General

In 2011, Akram Mahmoud decided to create his own guesthouse, taking into consideration everything related to traditional Lebanese designs, from traditional architecture to interior design.  The result: A perfect traditional Lebanese ambiance.

This meticulously designed house preserves every aspect of traditional Lebanese architecture. It features a “Diwan,” a traditional Arabian living room that is built around a fireplace and filled with comfortable red cushions on the floor for sitting or lounging.  The high ceiling is a trademark of Levantine art deco and a yellow stoned wall adds to an overall sense of warmth and soft light.

Akram offers you several touring choices in Barouk, from touring Lebanon’s famous Cedars and pine trees to lovely water fountains, museums, historical churches, and religious sites.

Barouk village is located within the natural biosphere of Al-Shouf Cedar Nature Reserve, a popular destination for hiking and trekking, with trails matching all levels of fitness. Bird watching, mountain biking and snow shoeing. From the summit of the rugged mountains, visitors will have a panoramic view of the countryside, east to the Beqaa Valley and Qaraoun Lake and west toward the Mediterranean.
