General

Al Achkar guesthouse was built some 250 years ago and embodies the authentic and traditional designs of old-world Lebanon. Located in the heart of the Shouf, it offers the ideal location for nature lovers and visitors looking for adventure, authenticity, organic traditional food and some quiet time away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

The meticulous interior design highlights Lebanese heritage from the “Diwan”, a traditional Arabian-style living room, situated around a chimney, to the lanterns which add intimacy and warmth of the room by offering soft indirect lighting and the against yellow stoned walls.

Al Achkar family has been welcoming guests for ten years, introducing their visitors to different sites in the Shouf area. Always with a smile, the Achkar family is happy to meet someone new and offer not only a place to stay, but an opportunity to visit the Cedar nature reserve, experience hiking trails, taste authentic breakfast, lunches and dinners upon request and explore the “Sit El Hisen” handicrafts workshop. In addition, you will have plenty of time to sit and relax under the village’s famous oak tree.

Free Wi-Fi is available. There is public parking at a nearby location.
